UK Government Statement on EPBD implementation

22 August 2018

Please find below statement from Michael Wilson, MHCLG, on the EPBD, actioning on the relevant board item from July.

“The EU have adopted changes to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, which included some changes to EPCs. These changes came into force on 9 July 2018 and Member States have 20 months from this date in which to transpose the requirements of the changes to the Directive into their domestic legislation and administrative provisions. Until 29th March 2019 the UK remains a full member of the European Union and all the rights and obligations of EU membership remain in force. During this period the government will continue to implement and apply EU legislation. The outcome of the exit negotiations will determine what arrangements apply in relation to EU legislation in future once the UK has left the EU.”
