Transposition into UK law

23 June 2016

Transposition into UK law of the nine new directives including LVD and EMCD, is delayed. The deadline was 20 April. BIS advises transposition will happen this year, and until then the current legislation remains in force in the UK. BIS advice to UK manufacturers is to meet the requirements of the new directives, including the DoC in the new format,  in order for products to have free circulation in other member states. However not doing so for the UK market is not a breach of current UK legislation.

This new version of the Guide includes new chapters, for example on the obligations of economic operators or accreditation, or completely revised chapters such as those on standardisation or market surveillance.
