Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) consultation

29 July 2022

On Monday, Government hosted a workshop to launch its consultation on it Review of Electricity Market Arrangements. Slides from the presentation can be downloaded from the link on the right hand side of this page. Here is a link to the recording of the session for download.

As promised at the session, Government is delivering a summer engagement programme with the following dates for its chapter sessions. These sessions are virtual and will be open for all.

  1. Low carbon investment: 23 August
  2. Operability: 26 August
  3. Flexibility: 30 August
  4. Wholesale Market: 5 September
  5. Capacity Adequacy: 8 September

Government is looking for a concerted effort from Industry to engage with these important questions and has specifically reached out to BEAMA to represent Industry views on these arrangements, which are of fundamental and crucial importance to most BEAMA members. We strongly encourage you to get involved. If you would like to know more, please contact Jeremy Yapp, Head of Flexible Energy Systems, or visit the Issue Forum page.

Government will also host a “REMA conference” event in the autumn: the plan is to run this event twice, once in London and, dependent on interest levels, once in Manchester (or else a second London date). If you wish to attend you can let Government whether you would prefer a Manchester date or a second London date by filling out this one question survey.
