Market Surveillance and Compliance set to be adopted on 16 April

08 April 2019

The proposal is scheduled for discussion in the European Parliament’s Plenary sitting on Monday 15 April in the late evening, with a vote, which they expect to be positive, on the next day. The Council is then expected to endorse the vote in a Common position that would finalise the adoption of the act in the first reading. Mr Ingels said that it would be up to the new European Commission – which will be put in place after the European elections – to decide to withdraw the old 2013 package, including the revision of the General Product Safety Directive.
