Goods Package II: Council expected to agree on compliance and enforcement

The Austrian Presidency of the Council expects to reach a ‘general approach’ on the EC proposal on Compliance and Enforcement next week, thereby overcoming the resistance of several Member States to the concept of a “person responsible for compliance” established within the EU (Art.4). The latter is being pushed to address the concerns of authorities faced with rogue e-commerce from outside of the EU.
