EC targeted consultation on LVD

Orgalime met with the external EC consultant following the evaluation of the LVD. Based on input received from BEAMA members and our past position, Orgalime reaffirmed the main message that the LVD is fit for purpose and should not be revised. Orgalime insisted that issues may arise from the combined application of other pieces of legislation, resulting for example in delays on citing harmonised standards in the OJEU under the LVD or the poor efficiency and effectiveness of the market surveillance system as regards to protecting fair competition among manufacturers of electrical products.
