COVID-19 A guide on returning business operations to the new normal
12 May 2020
BEAMA publishes this guide today to help our members develop their company guidelines for returning to work under safe conditions and in line with new Government guidelines as we enter into gradual phased recovery of the sector.
We know guidelines for companies bringing staff back to work need to be developed on a case by case basis, as no manufacturing line or company building is the same. We have therefore developed this guidance to help ensure our members address the key elements in the development of their plans and that this will in turn help keep our members’ employees and customers safe as we return to the ‘new normal’.
BEAMA CEO Dr Howard Porter stated ‘ these are unprecedented times and as an industry we have to be adaptable to changes brought about by COVID-19. This isn’t a return to the normal we remember before the virus, but a ‘new normal’, that will keep our member’s employees and customers safe, while keeping supply chains open. Our community of members are working with us to share best practice and ensure the new Government advice on returning to work is translated into effective action. We hope the BEAMA guidelines published today help in the sharing of this best practice.’
