Orgalime report from the EC ATEX Working Group meeting of 5 July. Quick summary of the most important issues:
- Agenda Point 5 Section $ 74: Obligations of manufacturers - the changes to the ATEX guidelines were not adopted as the legal consequences of this change were not certain. Experts are asked to suggest a clearer wording to be adopted at next meeting in 2019.
- Agenda point 6: ATEX and Machinery Directives interfaces: examples - The document was briefly presented but more detailed discussions will be held in an ADhoc working group which has been set up to provide a report on the interfaces between MD and ATEX – The group will report back at the next meeting.
- ATEX harmonised European standards: Most recent publication on 15 June – we are keeping to the cycle of publications every 2-3 months. In the last citation there were 61 standards from CEN and 21 from Cenelec – in total 92
