2Compliance and Enforcement: positive agreement was reached at trialogue 7 February

A political agreement was reached in 7th Feb trialogue meeting on the draft Regulation on ‘Compliance and Enforcement’. The outcome of the discussions is very positive for the Orgalim industries. We are especially pleased that for an imported product, the economic operator tasked in Art. 4 to liaise with the market surveillance authorities will not be obliged to hold the OEM technical documentation. Furthermore, Article 8 has been maintained at full potential to enable MSAs to agree on joint activities with organisations representing economic operators or end-users. It will still take a couple of months before the new Regulation on Market Surveillance and Compliance will be published in the OJEU. It will take at least two more years before Member States will implement it in full.
