Benefits of underfloor heating
Underfloor heating provides high levels of comfort and efficiency in the home and is the choice of 90% of self-builders. It’s also used in a large number of commercial buildings where the performance of HVAC systems are more frequently considered holistically. UFH is readily installed during construction and there are many modern systems developed specifically for retrofit, whatever the floor covering. The same installed equipment can also be used as part of a system to mitigate the effects of overheating in summer.
Because wall space does not have to be given over to radiators, UFH affords designers greater flexibility on layout and window dimensions/placement. There are however common misconceptions perpetuated from out-of-date information on cost and operation that sometimes lead to a missed opportunities for superior client satisfaction and sales differentiation.
