Wilson Power Solutions is a manufacturer of power and distribution transformers, switchgear and battery chargers. Based in Yorkshire, Wilson Power Solutions is a family business that has over 70 years of rich expertise and has grown its team and developed its product offering to provide customers with innovative and energy efficient technologies.
We design, manufacture and install energy efficient and cost-effective power distribution solutions to many sectors including higher education, healthcare, retail, process manufacturing and renewables sectors.
Our Wilson e2 super low loss amorphous transformer was launched in 2008 and already exceeded TIER 2 EU Eco design regulations for transformer losses scheduled to come into force in July 2021. The product has proven success being installed in over 800 locations around the UK including TESCO, ASDA, McCain, Natural History Museum, the University of Warwick, University Hospital of South Manchester and others.
Our new generation Wilson e3 Ultra Low Loss amorphous transformers launched in 2018 and is even more energy efficient and far ahead TIER 2 EU Eco design regulations. Wilson e3 comes with an extended tapping range making it a smart and cost-effective voltage management solution for sites with MV supply. E3 can save up to £100,000 in energy costs over the lifetime of the units making it one of the best infrastructure decisions that could be taken to cut both costs and carbon emissions.
Wilson Power Solutions opened a manufacturing plant in Chennai, India in 2007 to be one of India’s independent transformer manufacturers delivering expert engineered distribution transformers for a wide range of sectors.
In addition to transformers, Wilson Power Solutions manufactures and supply battery charger trip units, Chargetec. The BTUs range from standard battery backups and alarms to large bespoke ones that are custom made to the project’s specifications and needs in our Leeds factory.
